Most of the jewellery found at Galleri Àsdis is deeply rooted within nordic mythology. Runes and petroglyphs are a big part of many pieces. The expression of almost every piece points clearly towards the artists icelandic background. The wild nature and untamed forces, a place where indescribable natural phenomena and superstition is a big part of everyday life.
The primary material for many pieces is silver, although gold is also used on occasion. Stones and pearls play a massive role in the creation of many pieces, and they vary from polished brilliants, safires and granades through vulcanic stones and raw diamonds.
Every piece of jewellery is hand crafted which gives a uniqueness to every single piece. A big part of Àsdis’ work is commissioned. Wedding bands especially require adaption in both dimensions and character.
